Dhaapaya Mandir

           Shree Dhapaya Maharaj is the Gram Daivat (deity) of Karjat. All Karjatkar believe in them and regularly visit them. It is believed that Sunday is the day of this God, and hence on each Sunday you will see more crowd.
         The Temple , i.e, Dhapaya Mandir is in main Karjat town, near the Bajarpeth and just 2 min from Karjat station. It is very famous and you can easily get there.
    The temple has annual jatra (fair) on Akshay Trutiya, when large crowd of karjatkars visit this temple. On the next day, wrestling(kusti) competitions are held in the ground of temple. Many well-known wrestlers from Maharashtra participate in it and to watch this breath-taking moments, huge crowd gather in ground coming from all nearby villages.
           The temple has a local commitee, which has built a spacious hall and a terrace with roof(that can be used for functions), with full water supply availability. Anyone can book hall and terrace space(if available in that period) for their functions or programs at a very reasonable fares. It is mainly used for engagements, marriages or exhibition/sell.
